Blue Thunder Cylinder Heads Big Block 429-460 Ford Race Heads Flatlander Racing offers custom prepped cylinder heads. Typical applications include valve size 2.250" intake - 1.880" exhaust. Spring Lift to .570 w/flat tappet cam (roller spring option up to .730" available at extra cost). Flatlander Racing's custom prepped heads are offered in 3 basic stages and comp. The "Blue Thunder" Cylinder Head (as cast), will out flow (at full valve lift), "any" cylinder head produced for the Ford 429 CJ that uses stock intake port location and manifolds when prepared under similar conditions.

Average Flow Figures  Stage 3 at 700 lift with 2.250 intake, 1.880 exhaust; 365 intake, 234 exhaust (Ford Exhaust).   Stage 3 at 700 lift with 2.250 intake, 1.880 exhaust; 365 intake, 245 exhaust (Chevy Exhaust).   Comp at 700 lift with 2.250 intake, 1.880 exhaust; 400 intake, 290 exhaust (Ford Exhaust).   Comp at 700 lift with 2.250 intake, 1.880 exhaust; 400 intake, 258 exhaust (Chevy Exhaust). Blue Thunder Heads Available in Stage 1, 2, 3 and Comp: Stage 1: Assembled with stainless steel valves, complete valve job, Manley chrome moly retainers and locks, Viton valve stem seals and Isky double valve springs for up to .570 lift cams (optional valve springs available for any lift cam).   Stage 2: Includes Stage 1 plus pocket porting, intake port match and port clean up and full exhaust porting.   Stage 3: Includes Stage 1 & 2 plus full intake porting, reshape chambers to unshroud valves and polish combustion chambers.    Comp: Includes all 3 stages above, plus additional porting. Blue Thunder Ford 429-460 Big Block Heads Blue Thunder Heads are the best standard configuration heads available for 429-460 Ford engines. They use all standard CJ equipment including intake manifold, guide plates, rockers, push rods and exhaust. Valves are the only exception. Blue Thunder heads require longer than stock valves. They are available in 3 combustion chamber sizes (74, 80cc). Optional BB Chevy exhaust port configuration is also available.
