5140 "I" Beam OEM Replacement Rods
PRO-Line OEM stock replacement connecting rods are manufactured from high quality 5140 chrome moly steel. The 5140 chrome moly steel rod has higher strength and better corrosion resistance than OEM low carbon steel rod. The rod and cap are separated during the 12,000 ton hot forming and forging process for superior quality. The tensile strength and shear force of 5140 chrome moly steel surpasses OEM low carbon steel and are for engines producing 500 horsepower.

Every rod is magnafluxed, X-Rayed, and ultrasonic tested to ensure the best quality All surfaces are shot peened and stress relieved Big and small ends are crossground by Sunnen Power Stroke Honing machine Weight control within ± 5 grams in a set A18 bronze wrist pin bushings are installed on floating pin models Multi-stage heat treated to release stress, internal strain and ensure the surface maintains hardness of HRB 228-269
