The Genesis 427 FE C5AE 65 Side Oiler Engine Project was born from a racer's mentality, to build an engine block that was one of the best and strongest ever made, based on the original Ford OEM design. Now the 2nd Gen block is on the market in both iron and aluminum, both with the proven design and high quality manufacturing expertise you expect. This block is ideal for the kit car market, the hobbyist or the full blown race market.  With a wide range of bore and stroke options, it will fill practically any need. The iron block is NHRA approved for the Stock and Super Stock classes. The Genesis 427 iron block is also the current record holder in the A-Stock class.

  • Oiling system identical to 1968 427 FE Side Oiler.
  • Material: Iron blocks are a very high quality grade iron with high nickel content.
  • Pattern work, foundry work and all machine work done in the USA.
  • Reinforced areas include: main webbing, main housing area, oil pan rail,
    cam support and crankshaft skirt.
  • Lifter galleys are drilled to accept hydraulic or solid lifters.
  • Water transfer passage from block to head has been reduced to prevent upper four corners from cracking, (a problem area for all original FE blocks).
  • Deck surface thickness increased 3/8” (over stock) for added strength.
  • Water jacket passage is cast shallower to increase bottom end strength.
  • Main caps are stronger than originals.
  • Cross bolt diameter increased from 3/8” to 7/16”.
  • The iron block bore range is from 4.130” to 4.440”. Standard bore is .010” under 4.250”, leaving an average cylinder wall thickness of .260”. This bore size (std. BBC) allows a wide range of pistons and rings.
  • The iron block weighs 230 lbs., which is 30 lbs. over stock, due the the reinforcements listed above. It is 110 lbs. lighter than the stock Ford 460 c.i. block.
  • The iron block base price is $3410.00 (Prices subject to change).
