For Big Block Chevrolets, this manifold is designed for maximum power and torque at an affordable price. This High Performance Manifold is unique in design. After two years of testing and development, this patented deport air straightener, #5,148,675, allows for high velocity exhaust flow. We have experienced 40 to 50 foot pounds of torque and horsepower in stock engines. We have also found 80 to 90 foot pounds
of torque and horsepower on high performance engines up to 575 cubic
inches. (Independent dyno tests run by Paul Pfaff Enterprises, Huntington Beach, California, and other engine builders throughout the United States found similar results. Powerflow manifolds are manufactured using the finest materials and most advanced techniques available. The high quality aluminum manifold castings feature water jackets that surround each exhaust passage, including the port, to eliminate the possibility of burn out. The inside of the water jackets are coated, a special hard anodize impregnating process, to prevent corrosion and leakage. The coating will not flake off and clog water fittings like conventional powder paint can. The outside manifold
surfaces are then coated with the highest quality epoxy powder coating available, creating a part that not only is highly corrosion resistant, but good looking as well. Powerflow stainless steel water jacketed exhaust pipes are highly polished, free
flowing, and water jacketed to insure there are no hot spots toward the top of the pipes. Water flows directly through the flange from the manifold and they feature an external fitting to accept stock Mercruiser thermostat plumbing. Note photograph #80. The Exhaust System for Big Block Chevy is available with several different stainless
water jacketed riser pipe configurations. Photograph #81 is an example of one of these installations. Exhaust system will produce 40-50 extra horsepower and 40-50 foot pounds of torque over stock cast iron exhaust. Our aluminum manifold weighs 80 pounds less than stock and allows twin engines mounting down to 33" center. This manifold eliminates cracked tubes common to stainless steel tubular headers and several options.
